About KSUM

Founded in 2006, The Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) is the nodal agency of the government of Kerala for promoting entrepreneurship in the state.

The KSUM Story

Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) is the nodal agency of the Kerala Government for entrepreneurship and incubation, responsible for implementing the Kerala Technology Startup Policy. Specifically, KSUM manages Technology Business Incubators and Accelerators, while also coordinating statewide efforts to promote tech-based entrepreneurship.

Moreover, KSUM serves as the apex body for coordinating incubators across Kerala, thereby strengthening the state’s entrepreneurship development activities. In addition, it promotes knowledge-driven, tech-based startups by students, faculty, and local entrepreneurs, while also facilitating industry-institute linkages, setting up R&D facilities, encouraging IEDCs and TBIs in academic institutions, and conducting capacity-building programmes.

Today, with sector-specific partners, KSUM supports over 2,900 start-ups, offering 10 lakh+ sq. ft. of incubation space, 40+ incubators, and 300+ innovation centres across Kerala.

Malabar Angel Network & KSUM

Malabar Angel Network (MAN) and Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) share a dynamic and collaborative partnership, actively working together to promote entrepreneurship and foster a thriving ecosystem for angel investors in Kerala. Together, we have co-hosted and supported several key initiatives, including Ignite events across 10 districts, where we engaged professional communities like doctors and technocrats in Angel Investment. As an ecosystem partner, MAN has actively contributed to Capital Cafe and Huddle events, as well as Seeding Kerala, where our members played a significant role in shaping discussions.

Our collaboration extends across multiple initiatives, including co-hosting innovation summits, such as three Innovation Summit in Healthcare for Doctors with KSUM and IMA, in Kozhikode, Kochi and Trivandrum.
