Srilakshmi R Intern

My internship at Malabar Angel Network was a very fulfilling experience. I had the opportunity to sit in on investment pitches by startups which gave me a very good understanding of what investors look for while deciding which companies to invest in. I was able to contribute in building the MAN website which served as a platform to put my technical skills to use. While attending the Innovation Summit in Healthcare for Doctors at IMA Thiruvananthapuram, I got to meet and network with many startup founders, investors and industrialists who shared the stories their journey and experiences which were very inspiring. I would like to thank Malabar Angels for giving me this invaluable opportunity.

Working at Malabar Angel Network offered me a rare blend of technical, entrepreneurial, and managerial exposure early in my career. I primarily worked on developing and maintaining the official MAN website gaining valuable hands-on technical exposure. Sitting in on startup pitch sessions helped me understand the investor mindset and what truly matters in early-stage ventures, especially the importance of founder–market fit. I also had the opportunity to organize the Innovation Summit in Healthcare (IMA Summit) in Trivandrum. Through the Summit and other MAN initiatives, I gained exposure to a vibrant network of investors, founders, and medical professionals. Being a part of MAN gave me a front-row seat to Kerala’s growing startup ecosystem, and I am truly grateful for the exposure, mentorship, and opportunities I received.

My internship at Malabar Angel Network in Kannur, Kerala, was an incredibly enriching experience. It was a stepping stone for my entry into the startup and entrepreneurial world. I gained valuable insights into the complexities of early-stage investment and startup ecosystems within a dynamic and supportive environment. I was fortunate enough to meet many startup founders, academia, Investors, and industrialists from the Kannur startup ecosystem, and I also participated in KSUM events. Everyone I have met during my internship has left a positive mark and helped me to learn from their life experiences. Really thankful to the MAN management for this opportunity.
