Malabar Angel Network (MAN) is the startup discovery and angel investment facilitation platform, constituting the business division of MiZone, a Section 8 nonprofit company. Our mission is to empower entrepreneurs in Kerala to secure their first investment while fostering wealth creation for first-time investors in the startup ecosystem.
Our key areas of focus - Preferably Kerala Startups, that can create impact in any sector, early stage fit, revenue earning, and amenable for angel investment. Our ticket size typically ranges from Rs. 2.5 Lakhs to Rs. 50 Lakhs, with flexibility based on the potential of the startup. We have a history of tickets extending up to Rs. 1.5 Crore for particularly promising ventures. The startups we back should be disruptively innovative (not incremental innovation), capable of serving large markets in India or globally, with the ability to scale rapidly, and founded by an ambitious team.
We also co-invest with other angel networks and VCs.
Note : All investments are made directly by individual investors to the startups. Each investor is responsible for making their own investment decisions based on their independent evaluation of the startup.
MAN is a network of experienced corporate professionals, SME promoters, academicians, and high-net-worth individuals in Kerala and globally. MAN mentors and supports startups in Mizone, leveraging its members' domain expertise to guide them to the investor table.
The MAN Secretariat builds a deal pipeline, conducts regular pitch sessions, offers investor advocacy, and provides due diligence and legal support for lead investors. MAN also collaborates with other angel networks and VCs, including the Kerala Startup Mission's empanelled fund of funds. It has existing partnerships with Indian Angel Network (IAN) and Native Angel Leads of Tamil Nadu.
Startups seeking early-stage funding are invited to send their pitch decks to MAN’s Secretariat at [email protected]. Mentors interested in joining the ecosystem can also submit their resumes and areas of interest to the same email.

For becoming a member of MAN, Please go through the framework document for all the details. Members will have to satisfy the existing criteria laid down by Government of India and Securities and Exchange Board of India. (These guidelines are under finalization by Government of India for angel investors). This form can be downloaded here; filled up and sent to the MAN secretariat in the Mizone address.
The secretariat will verify the details and approve the membership and formal intimation of the approval will be communicated within 10 days of the date of receipt of the application.
